EDUCATE THEM ALONGSIDE OTHERS, THEIR NEGATIVE FEELINGS COULD BE OVERCOME

Integration class involves running a special class within a mainstream school, with between six and eleven students, according to UNESCO standards. The classes are designed for students with learning difficulties who from six years and above, who have finished the rehabilitation stage, to achieve the ‘right’ level of attainment. Trained teachers run the class and make it cooperative with the surrounding mainstream class, following the Special Need Education curriculum, established by Rwanda Education Board.

AUO collaborate with mainstream schools in different sectors. Integration is a two years education phase for children with intellectual disabilities who could not attend mainstream school program. At Mugombwa Mainstream, Amizero y’Ubuzima educates children with intellectual community from both local community and Mugombwa Congolese Refugee Camp, thanks to the collaboration with World Vision, UNHCR and Humanity&Inclusion
